Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug Stamped "WHITES UTICA," New York State origin, circa 1865, cylindrical jug with tooled shoulder and semi-squared spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a crested bird with turned head, spotted body, and fan-shaped tail, perched atop a stylized vine. Excellent color. Chips to spout. Tight hairline crack on left side, starting 4" from spout and extending to base. Minor fry to cobalt. H 15".
