Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Star Decoration, Stamped "C.W. BRAUN / BUFFALO. N.Y.," circa 1870, ovoid jar with applied lug handles and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed eight-pointed star motif surrounded by curved flourishes. Slip-trailed "2" above, underscored by a spotted flourish. Left handle with a small chip and worn spot. Minor wear to opposing handle. Light wear to interior of rim. A restored area to surface on proper right side of jar's front, not affecting decoration. H 10 1/2".
