Two Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jars, Bell Family, Strasburg, VA, fourth quarter 19th century, both of cylindrical form, a small-sized jar, stamped "SOLOMON BELL / STRASBURG / Va," paired with a one-gallon jar with manganese swag decoration over slip-coated surface, stamped "S. BELL & SON. / STRASBURG." Smaller with a few rim chips and a long in-the-firing contact mark to side. Larger with rim chips and grease residue to surface. H (of smaller) 7".
