Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jugs, Northeastern U.S. origin, third quarter 19th century, a two-gallon jug stamped "EVAN R. JONES / PITTSTON, PA," circa 1875, featuring the slip-trailed cobalt advertising "W. H. Whyle / Scranton" at shoulder; together with an ovoid jug stamped "S. HART," Fulton, NY, circa 1860, decorated with a brushed cobalt "1" within stylized border. Scranton jug in excellent condition with minor imperfections. S. Hart jug with tightly-reglued handle in three sections and other lesser imperfections including hairline at base on right side. H (of tallest) 13 3/4".
