Three Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Northeastern U.S. origin, fourth quarter 19th century, a two-gallon jug with bird-on-branch motif, stamped "J. MUTH / 251 SPRINGFIELD AVE / NEWARK N," NJ origin; a two-gallon crock with chicken pecking corn decoration, attributed to Brady & Ryan, Ellenville NY; and a two-gallon syrup jug with foliate decoration, stamped "NEW YORK / STONEWARE CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y." Newark jug missing handle, with large base chips, some fry to cobalt, and in-the-firing burns to surface. Chicken pecking corn crock with significant restoration, not affecting decoration, and a 2 1/2" crack from rim on front. Syrup jug with some exfoliation to base area and two glazed over rim chips. H (of tallest) 14".
