Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, American, 19th century, a two-gallon ovoid jar with brushed tulip motif, probably OH origin, mid 19th century; paired with a two-gallon lidded jar with cobalt foliate decoration, stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO. / WORCESTER MASS," circa 1858-1877. Ovoid jar with rim chips, exfoliation to side/reverse, minor chipping to base, and some staining. Norton jar with three small chips to proper right handle, a minor chip to proper left handle, a minor in-the-firing ping to reverse, a small chip to interior of rim, chips and wear to inner rim for lid, and fry to cobalt. Lid with 1 3/4" hairline from edge. H (of taller) 11 1/8".
