Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Philadelphia, PA Advertising, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, brush-decorated with tulips flanking the impressed and cobalt-highlighted advertising, "MADE FOR / EMERICK & HOPKINS. / IMPORTERS OF QUEENSWARE. / NO 349 NTH 3 ST / MADE FOR." Brushed spot decoration above. Unusual double stamping of the words "MADE FOR." Handle broken into pieces and restored along breaks. A 3/4" spout chip. H 15 1/2".
