Copper-Glazed Redware Inkstand, PA or New England origin, early 19th century, slab-built rectangular form resting on four feet, fashioned with carved circular openings holding the stand's original well and sander. A third circular opening of unknown purpose at the center lacks any insert. Surface covered in a mottled lead and copper glaze. Provenance: Jeffrey S. Evans and Associates, November, 2015. Large flake over center hole. A small base chip. Some chipping and clay residue along rim of well and some wear to spout. An in-the-firing chip to top of sander. L 5 7/8" ; W 3 1/4" ; H (including inserts) 2 3/4".
