Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Quadruple Face Candelabra, Signed and Dated "Clint Alderman / 2008," Hartwell, GA, 2008, double-lobed, open-handled jug form decorated with four hand-modeled and applied clay faces featuring cobalt pupils, the upper and lower section fashioned with four wheel-thrown and applied candleholders. Three faces include open mouths with broken china teeth. Olive alkaline-glazed surface. Incised Clint Alderman signature and date at base. A masterwork by one of the country's leading folk ceramicists. Provenance: Carl and Marian Mullis Collection. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 14 1/4".
