Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug, Signed "David R. Meaders," Cleveland, GA, late 20th century, ovoid jug with hand-modeled and applied clay face featuring kaolin eyes with brown-slip pupils, well-sculpted nose and ears, and open mouth with broken china teeth. Surface covered in an olive-colored alkaline glaze. Underside incised with David R. Meaders signature. Provenance: William House; Carl and Marian Mullis Collection. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 13 1/2".
