Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug, Signed "Lanier Meaders," Cleveland, GA, circa 1985, ovoid jug with hand-modeled and applied clay face including kaolin eyes with cobalt-slip pupils, ears, nose, chin, and frowning mouth with kaolin teeth. Surface covered in a mottled green alkaline glaze. Underside incised with Lanier Meaders signature. Provenance: Carl and Marian Mullis Collection. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 9 1/2".
