Rare Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "TH. GUNTHER / BERNS / SHEBOYGAN," WI origin, circa 1866-1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, brush-decorated with a two-blossomed plant emanating from a stylized ground. Faint maker's mark to shoulder. A crack across underside, extending 8 3/4" up proper left side of crock into handle. This damage also continues onto the base of the proper right side as a faint 1" line. A small chip to proper right handle. A small glazed-over chip to proper left handle. A small glazed-over rim chip. Staining to surface. H 10 1/4".
