Four-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "P.H. SMITH," Springfield Township, OH origin, mid 19th century, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, brush-decorated with a curved-stem tulip motif. Large swath of cobalt over maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent condition with some very minor base nicks and an in-the-making stone inclusion on reverse. H 16 1/2".
