Large-Sized Stoneware Pig Flask, Midwestern origin, fourth quarter 19th century, in the form of an anatomically-correct, reclining pig with carved eyes and snout forming the vessel's snout, the surface covered in a mottled Albany slip glaze. Glaze covering the shortened snout of the animal indicates the spout is as-made and was not blunted over time. Very nice condition with a chip to tail, a chip to interior of spout, and a small in-the-firing ping to top of pig. L 8 1/2".
