Very Rare Stoneware Inkwell with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to J.D. Heatwole or the Coffman Family, Dry River or Beldor, VA, circa 1850-1870, cylindrical form with central ink hole, brush-decorated with two large flowers flanking the opening, surrounded by a band of cobalt. A scarce form in its own right and very difficult to find from this potting school. Provenance: Jeffrey S. Evans and Associates, November 2011. Very nice condition with a 1/2" chip to bottom edge and a minor nick to hole. Diam. 3 1/4" ; H 1 3/4".
