Multi-Glazed Redware Cream Pitcher, attributed to S. Bell & Sons or J. Eberly & Co., Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, ovoid pitcher with footed base, flaring collar, and ribbed handle, the surface dipped in cream-colored slip, decorated with splashes of copper and manganese, and covered in a clear lead glaze. Some in-the-firing bubbling/matte areas to glaze. A 1 1/4" sliver-shaped flake to rim on reverse. A shallow rim chip. Wear to rim and spout. A thin 2" crack from rim on side of pitcher. Handle with a small chip and small spots of wear. Small chips and wear to base. H 6 7/8".
