Very Rare Stoneware Presentation Flowerpot, Inscribed "Mrs. B" in Cobalt, Strasburg, VA origin, possibly Bell Family, circa 1880, flaring pot with squared rim and original drain hole in underside, inscribed with the cobalt inscription, "Mrs. B." The fact that the last name of the flowerpot's owner is charmingly abbreviated to a single letter indicates the maker was well-acquainted with the vessel's recipient. Possibly made by a member of the Bell family for his wife. Very nice condition with a shallow 1 1/8" flake to rim and minor traces of old paint to surface. H 6 3/8" ; Diam. (at rim) 6 1/2".
