Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Rockingham County, VA origin, third quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with pronounced rim, decorated with a brushed tulip motif on the front and reverse. Jar is out-of-round. Rim and base chips. A small amount of clay residue and a small in-the-firing contact mark to rim. Hairlines to underside, forming a T and short vertical line at base. H 7 1/8" ; Diam. 8 1/8".
