Rare Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Flowering Stump Decoration, attributed to David Parr, Jr., Richmond, VA, circa 1855, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, brush-decorated with a tulip plant emanating from a striped, stylized tree stump. Reverse and side with freehand swag motifs. Minor chipping to rim. A minuscule base nick. A very minor in-the-firing contact mark to shoulder. H 8 1/2".
