Extremely Rare Miniature Salt-Glazed Stoneware Pitcher with Hand-Modeled Face, probably Virginia origin, circa 1860-1880, ovoid-bodied pitcher with flared collar and applied handle, the front decorated with a depressed design of a reductive human face with pinched nose and incised eyes and mouth. Provenance: Previously found in North Carolina; Al Marzorini Collection; Crocker Farm, Inc., March 19, 2016, lot 386. Handle broken into three pieces and reglued. A 3/8" chip to side of spout with small reglued flake below. A 3/8" in-the-firing base chip. H 3".
