One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "D.P. SHENFELDER / READING. PA." circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, brush-decorated with an undulating, flowering vine. Impressed with D.P. Shenfelder maker's mark on reverse. Minor bubbling to cobalt. A shallow 1/2" flake to interior of rim. A thin 2" crack from rim on far left side of crock's front. Two minuscule nicks to shoulder molding on reverse. H 7 3/4".
