Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Frog on Clamshell Inkwell, Signed "Anna Pottery / 1881," Wallace and Cornwall Kirkpatrick, Anna, IL, 1881, figure of a frog with incised mouth and feet, seated on a molded clamshell base with circular opening, both decorated with brushed cobalt spots and highlights. Underside incised "Anna Pottery / 1881." A distinctive and prized Anna form, featuring desirable cobalt-decorated, salt-glazed surface. Excellent condition with a minor nick and minor line to frog's snout. L 3 1/2" ; H 3 1/8".
