Rare and Fine Slip-Decorated Stoneware Flowerpot, attributed to the Hissong Pottery, Cassville, PA, fourth quarter 19th century, flaring form with attached saucer and elaborate crimping to rim of pot and saucer, the surface covered in Albany slip and brush-decorated on the front and reverse with an elaborate flowering vine in white slip. A beautifully-potted and extravagantly-decorated example, featuring particularly crisp slip application. A 1 1/2" and 1 1/8" flake to rim of saucer. A small chip to saucer. Small rim chips. H 5 5/8" ; Diam. 6 1/2".
