One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX. / HARRISBURG .PA," circa 1865, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, straight collar, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a large tulip blossom with elongated stamens. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 2 1/4" line from rim on front. A minor in-the-firing ping to decoration. A minor rim chip on reverse. H 9 1/4".
