Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Starface Decoration, Stamped "T. HARRINGTON / LYONS," NY State origin, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a face surrounded by eight rays. Slip-trailed "2." above. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Chips to interior and exterior of rim. Minor nicks to inner rim for lid. Restoration to rim on reverse. An 8" crack from rim on proper left side of jar. An approximately 2 1/2" faint line below proper right handle. Staining to surface. Clay and glaze residue to underside. H 11 1/2".
