One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "CORTLAND," Madison Woodruff, possibly with Romanzo Smith, Cortland, NY, circa 1867-1869, cylindrical jug with tooled shoulder and semi-squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed spiraling design accented with swags. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Very nice condition with areas of staining and some light bubbling to areas of cobalt. H 11".
