Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird on Stump Decoration, Stamped "RIEDINGER& CAIRE / POUGHKEEPSIE-NY," circa 1870, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim, decorated with crested bird with fan-shaped tail, perched on a detailed stump flanked by shrubs. Two small chips to one handle. Light staining. A 2 3/4" surface line on underside, continuing 1 1/2" diagonally onto base on front, not visible on interior. Crock includes old brown paint to interior. H 10 1/8".
