Unusual One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WHITES UTICA," NY State origin, third quarter 19th century, squat-shaped, ovoid pitcher with tooling to midsection and rim, brush-decorated with a bird atop a stylized ground. Cobalt accent to maker's mark. A lesser-seen design for this form. Excellent, essentially as-mad condition with some bubbling to cobalt and clay residue to top of spout. H 9 1/2".
