Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Tree Decoration, Stamped "W. ROBERTS BINGHAMTON, N.Y.," circa 1870, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a tree. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Fry to cobalt. Small flakes below decoration. A 1 1/2" crack above one handle. Proper left handle with a small glazed-over chip and small post-firing chip. Small in-the-firing flaws to surface. H 7 1/8".
