Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "C.W. BRAUN / BUFFALO N.Y.," circa 1870, ovoid jug with pronounced spout molding, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird with spotted body and cross-hatched tail, perched on a stem. Cobalt accent to maker's mark. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with an in-the-firing contact mark at base on reverse. H 14 1/2".
