Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird and Floral Decoration, attributed to Somerset Potter's Works, Somerset, MA, circa 1870, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird flanked by swags above a large flower. Base of handle with unusual treatment of four impressed and cobalt-highlighted screwheads. Fry to cobalt. Two small in-the-firing flaws to surface. A shallow chip to top of spout and light wear to interior of spout. H 14".
