Four-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "F.B. NORTON Sons. / WORCESTER MASS," circa 1880, cylindrical jug with tooled and cobalt-highlighted band at base of spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of two conjoined leaves flanking a looping line design, accented with spots. Includes wooden spigot. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. A 3/4" chip and spots of staining to proper right side of jug. A small in-the-firing contact mark to proper left side jug. A thin 4" crack on underside, continuing 2 1/2" up base on reverse. H 18".
