Scarce Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Crossed Cobalt Leaf Decoration, Dated 1886, Stamped "FRANK B NORTON / WORCESTER MASS.," 1886, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of crossed leaves accented with spotted trails, above the date, "1886." Slip-trailed flourish above. Some fry to cobalt. A 3/4" reglued flake to top of spout. A small spout chip. Two minor nicks to spout. Crazing to spout, base area of jug, and underside. Staining to surface. A small in-the-firing ping to reverse. H 14".
