Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Parrot Decoration, Stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO / WORCESTER, MASS.," circa 1858-1877, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested parrot perched on conjoined leaves accented with swags, a spiraling line, and dotted trails. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent condition. A small chip to top of rim. A small chip to interior of rim. Minor surface wear to front. A minor in-the-firing iron ping to reverse. Light staining to exterior. Water glass staining to interior. H 10 3/4".
