Three-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "E & L P NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT:," circa 1870, ovoid form with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with long tail, perched on a floral spray. Cobalt accents to maker's mark and capacity mark. Restored cracks, including some touch-up to bird's tail and one end of floral design. H 15".
