Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT," circa 1855, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed floral motif with oval, striped blossoms. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A small chip to interior of rim and small chips and wear to inner rim for lid. A small glazed-over iron ping to left handle at front terminal. H 11 1/2".
