Rare Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Signed "I. Gay," Isaac Gay, Union County, NC, circa 1870, semi-ovoid jug with semi-squared spout and applied strap handle, featuring the vertically-incised signature, "I. Gay," at the shoulder. Very nice condition. A 3 1/4" Y-shaped line, along with some minor, in-the-firing fissures, at base. A miniscule nick to handle and extremely minor spout wear. H 11 3/4".
