Scarce Salisbury, MD Stoneware Advertising Jug, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1880, squat-shaped, ship chandler's form jug with tooled spout, featuring the impressed advertising, "S. ULMAN. & BRO. /WHOLESALE & RETAIL / DEALERS IN / LIQUORS, TOBACCO & C. / DOCK ST. SALISBURY. MD." Very nice condition. A small spout chip on reverse. A miniscule nick to front of spout with a short and very faint surface line descending from it, not visible on interior. Surface crazing to handle. Minor flecks of old silver paint to reverse. H 8".
