Rare One-Gallon Salisbury, MD Stoneware Advertising Jug, Stamped "P. HERRMANN," Baltimore, MD, circa 1880, squat-shaped, ship chandler's form jug with tooled spout, featuring the impressed and cobalt-highlighted advertising, "M E HASTINGS / DEALER IN LIQUORS &C / SALISBURY MD." Impressed with Peter Herrmann maker's mark at shoulder. Excellent condition with a minor in-the-firing chip to side of jug and some staining. H 10".
