Two-Gallon Stoneware Milk Pan with Cobalt Drape Decoration, attributed to Henry Remmey, Sr. or Jr. at Henry Myer's Baltimore Stoneware Manufactory, Baltimore, MD, circa 1825, wide, flaring form with pouring spout and arched tab handles, brush-decorated on the front and reverse with an elaborate drape motif descending from a wavy line. Additional drape motif below handles and highlights to handles. Restored spider crack to underside, forming a top-to-bottom crack to reverse as well as a few short vertical lines at base. Chips to proper left handle. A 1 1/4" chip to left of spout with a 2" hairline descending from it. Several small rim chips. A thin 4 1/2" crack from rim and faint 2 1/4" line from rim. An adhered piece of clay to proper right side of pan. Grease residue to surface. Diam. 12 1/4" ; H 7".
