Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to David Parr, Sr., Baltimore, MD, circa 1825, ovoid jar with footed base, rounded rim, and arched tab handles, brush-decorated completely around the midsection with a lavish tulip motif. Additional hanging tulip-and-swag motif at shoulder on front and reverse. Highlights to handle terminals. Classic Parr brushwork, decorated with a total of fifteen flowers. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a drip of old brown paint to proper left handle, unrelated to any sort of restoration. H 14".
