Sugar bowl marked "AMERICAN / POTTERY CO / JERSEY CITY N.J.." Creamer marked with a different Jersey City mark. As most pieces of American Pottery Company's work are sold individually, the offering of this lot as a matching set is a rare opportunity. A related teapot currently resides at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Teapot with two small spout chips, some edge wear, and a minor chip to inner rim for lid, its lid with a few minor chips and some wear. Sugar bowl with a small base chip and a minor chip to flange on underside of lid. Creamer with a small chip and minor nicks to interior of rim, a few small base chips, and a miniscule nick to interior of spout, lacking lid. All include some staining. H (of teapot) 5 1/4".
