Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, ovoid jar with footed base, tooled shoulder, tall collar, and ribbed lug handles, brush-decorated on the front and reverse with horizontal tulip motifs. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals and a line of cobalt below each handle. A cross-shaped in-the-firing ping to rim. A minor chip to exterior of rim. A large star-shaped in-the-firing fissure to underside. Staining to surface. H 13 1/4".
