Two-Gallon Stoneware Cake Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to R.J. Grier, Chester County, PA, circa 1875, wide, cylindrical form with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated on the front and reverse with diagonal drooping floral motifs. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Rim chips. A 6 3/4" crack from rim on one side. A 1 1/2" Y-shaped surface line from rim on interior, not visible on exterior. H 6 3/4" ; Diam. 11 3/8".
