Fine Quart-Sized Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Chester County, PA origin, circa 1850, ovoid pitcher with footed base and short collar with inwardly-tapering rim, brush-decorated around the midsection with a swag and hanging flower motif. Two flower blossom on each side of the collar and dashes to spout. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Exceptional size and striking color. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a small, glazed-over base chip and some minor in-the-firing surface fissures to underside, not visible on interior. H 7 1/4".
