Lidded Stoneware Cake Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, cylindrical form with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and ribbed lug handles, brush-decorated on the front and reverse with two large, four-petaled flowers. Dash decoration below handles and highlights to handle terminals. Includes a swag-decorated lid, attributed to Remmey, and possibly original to the crock. Crock in excellent condition with two small rim chips. Lid with a chip to knob, two chips to edge, chips to flange on underside, and a 1 1/2" hairline to flange on underside. Dimensions (excluding lid): 9 3/4"x 63/8" ; Diam. (of lid) 10 1/4".
