One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1880, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled collar, brush-decorated with a two-stemmed tulip plant emanating from a stripe at the base. Swag decoration to spout and collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A 2" x 2" Y-shaped surface line to proper right of pitcher. A 1 5/8" reglued flake to rim on reverse including two minor chips. A 4 1/2" crack from rim on proper left side of pitcher. A minor glazed-over chip to interior of rim. A base chip that was covered in cobalt and glazed over. H 11".
