Two-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Stamped "SLH," Sylvanus Hartsoe, Lincoln County, NC, fourth quarter 19th century, ovoid jug with narrow, tooled spout, the surface covered in a mottled olive alkaline glaze with rutile to spout and shoulder. Impressed with Sylvanus Hartsoe maker's mark below spout. A shallow 3/4" spout chip. Minor chipping to base. H 14".
