Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Milkpan, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1880, flaring pan with broad pouring spout and ribbed lug handles, brush-decorated with a series of swags around the body. Swag decoration below handles and cobalt highlights to handle terminals. An uncommon form for this maker. Edge wear to both handles. Some light exfoliation to underside and Albany slip on interior. Water glass staining to surface. A few minor rim chips. Light wear to interior of rim. An in-the-making flaw near base on front. H 4 3/4" ; Diam. 12 5/8".
