Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, attributed to West Troy Pottery, New York State origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a crested, ring-necked bird perched on a scrolled stem with spotted embellishments. Cobalt accent to maker's mark. A thin diagonal crack descending from spout to shoulder on reverse. Two horizontal cracks through handle. A minor surface nick to front. H 16 1/2".
